The Brisbane City Cats operate seven days a week at regular 15 minute intervals and even more frequently in peak hour. For a more leisurely experience, why not take a cruise on theKookaburra River Queen paddle wheelers, where great food, entertainment and cruising all come together. Lunch and dinner cruises are available.

Visit an Iconic Brisbane Pub

Brisbane is home to a number of iconic pubs  and these ones are not be missed.The Breakfast Creek Hotel, affectionately known to most as “The Brekky Creek” it’s famous for its premium quality steaks and “Beer off the Wood”.  Other great pubs worth a visit include The Regatta Hotel at Toowong, The Story Bridge Hotel at Kangaroo Point and the Norman Hotel at Woolloongabba. There is something for everyone with The Myer Centre and Mac Arthur Central along with the Wintergarden and historically significant Brisbane Arcade and Tattersall’s Arcade. Head into the suburbs to shop the major shopping centres including Toowong Village and Indooroopilly Shopping Centre. Don’t overlook shopping in Arena’s local areas where you are bound to find something a little unique at local boutiques and weekend markets.

Cuddle a Koala

Brisbane is home to the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, the world’s first and largest koala sanctuary, housing over 130 of these beautiful cuddly creatures. Not just koalas with this sanctuary home to a range of Australian native wildlife, A short drive (approximately 15 minutes from the CBD,) Lone Pine is easily accessible and promises to be a great day out for young and old.

Take in some live music

Calling all music lovers….Brisbane is home to a great range of live music. Head to Fortitude Valley where you are bound to find a live music gig, There are many great bars and music venues where you can see some great Australian and International acts. The recently opened Triffid in nearby Newstead is Brisbane’s newest live music venue created from an old commercial hangar with state of the art sound techniques. Enjoy some food and drink served up from shipping containers in the pop-up beer garden outside.

Be Adventurous

For the adrenalin junkies, head to the Riverlife Adventure Centre at Kangaroo Point. Not only stunning views over the city but here you can paddle boarding or kayak on the River or how about abseil and rock climb the Kangaroo Point Cliffs. Cycling, kayaking and Segway tours are also available. For something different, how about the Story Bridge Adventure Climb, one of only three in the world, this will get your heart started.

Take in Brisbane Views

Pack your camera and view Brisbane from the Mt Coot-tha Lookout. Just 7 kms from the CBD, this lookout has stunning panoramic views of Brisbane city and its surrounds. Stunning with views of the Brisbane River, the city, Moreton Island and even the Glasshouse Mountains on a clear day. The Summit Restaurant and cafe offers great lunch, dinner and coffee options. Definitely well worth the trip.
